History: Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine has been rooted into Chinese culture for centuries now and is a major aspect of traditional Chinese medicine. Its main purpose is to restore the balance of energy, spirit and vitality in the human body. More specifically, ‘Yin Yang’ is the fundamental principle and the most important theory in TCM, underlying all physiology, pathology & treatment

Usage: Herbal Treatment

We attempt to prevent and treat imbalances, such as those caused by cancer and other diseases, with complex combinations of herbs, minerals, and plant extracts. Chinese herbal medicine uses a variety of herbs such as astragalus, ginkgo, ginseng, green tea, and eleuthero (also known as "Siberian ginseng") in different combinations to restore balance to the body. Herbal blends are used to prevent and treat Diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, obesity, hormone disturbances, infections, breathing disorders, and a vast number of other ailments and diseases.

Methods: 4 Stages of Diagnosis

The typical diagnosis in TCM undergoes a four stage physical examination:

  • Observation - the doctor studies the patient’s external condition i.e. skin pallor, tongue, the facial sensory organs and some excrement
  • Auscultation and olfaction - the doctor depicts any underlying symptoms which the patient might not be aware of through sound and odor
  • Interrogation - the doctor consults with the patient about any occurring symptoms and/or existing sicknesses
  • The taking of the pulse and palpation- the doctor notes the pulse’s frequency and variation

Frequently Asked Questions :

Are there any side effects after using the medicine?
No, because all the elements that are mixed into our herbal medicines are 100% natural and the plant extracts are grown without any artificial enhancers. A key aspect of TCM is to restore health into the human body using all natural substances. No chemicals are added and therefore there are no side- effects of using the medicine prescribed, both for internal use and external.

Once a patient is treated from his/her sickness, can he/she stop using the medication?
Yes, this form of treatment does not suppress illnesses or minimize their effects on the body, but rather it restores the body’s health and strengthens its immunity system from contracting the disease again. TCM is therefore a long-term solution for a sickness; once our doctor has cleared the patient from his/her illness, all medication can be ceased.

Are there any allergic reactions that may occur due to the ingredients in the medicine prescribed?
During the four stages of diagnosis, our doctor will have noted any allergies that the patient has to natural herbs and extracts. This is then taken into account when the doctor prescribes the medication. As our doctor specifically concocts the mixture according to the needs of each individual patient, any ingredient that may cause an allergic reaction is avoided.
